Appreciate Design Team
Taz Tagore-Design Principal
TAZ TAGORE is a designer, author and social entrepreneur. Her design experience spans the fashion, product, theater and museum sectors. In addition to her design experience, she was a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, an investment banker on Wall Street and led the Sales/Marketing team at Edwin Schlossberg's design firm (ESI Design). Throughout her diverse career, Tagore volunteered at homeless shelters in the U.S., Canada and at Mother Theresa's hospice in Calcutta, India. She co-founded the Reciprocity Foundation and the Appreciate Network in 2004 to provide mentorship, job training and employment to homeless youth. She has been featured on ABC-News and in notable publications such as the New York Times, Daily News, Metropolis, Yoga Journal, Breathe. Fit Yoga, the Globe & Mail and the New York Post.
Ron McBain-Design Principal
RON MCBAIN is a graphic designer, painter and accomplished sailor with nearly 20 years of experience designing graphics for the food & beverage industry, museums, events, retail environments & public spaces. Ron began his career at Hanson Associates in Philadelphia and later spent 13 years as a senior graphic designer for ESI Design. Ron is a graduate of The University of the Arts.
Sabine Phineus-Design Intern
SABINE PHINEUS is a junior at Saint Francis College in Brooklyn and has been part of the Reciprocity Foundation design mentorship program since 2005. She worked in the silk-screening studio operated by Covenant House and has recited her original poetry at a recent United Nations World Day of Peace celebration.
Bismark German-Design Intern
BISMARK GERMAN is a self-taught fashion and interior designer and has been part of the Reciprocity Foundation design mentorship program since 2005. He is an intern at Michael Simon's design studio and has held positions at retailers such as Banana Republic. He is completing his GED and applying to the Fashion Institute of Technology.
